I’m Karley Millender-Morris, a designer and storyteller who has always seen the world through color, emotion, and meaning. My work lives at the intersection of identity and imagination. I create to help people feel seen, understood, and empowered.
Karmil Studios is a reflection of my journey as a woman, a mother, and an artist. It is the space where intention meets identity and where creativity becomes connection. Every project is approached with purpose, heart, and a commitment to creating work that feels honest, human, and transformative.

My Story
The Path That Shaped My Creative Identity
My journey has always been guided by identity, emotion, and the belief that creativity has the power to help people feel seen.
Where it began
My creative spark started in middle school, but it took shape in a community college classroom studying traditional art, art history, and photography. That was when I first understood the depth and impact of visual storytelling. Photography taught me to see people with intention. Art taught me to feel. Every class expanded the way I understood color, emotion, and identity.
Finding my voice
I transferred to the Art Institute of Austin to pursue design more intentionally, and those years shaped both my foundation as an artist and my voice as a creative. In 2017, I was selected as the commencement speaker for the graduating class. It was a defining moment that reminded me creativity is not just what I do, but how I connect with others.
Growing into leadership
From there, my path expanded into brand identity, digital design, creative leadership, and graduate-level UX studies at MICA. Each experience strengthened my ability to balance intuition with strategy, art with clarity, and creativity with purpose.
Stepping into my own path
Today, whether I am building a brand, designing an interface, or capturing a moment in time, I create with honesty, emotion, and the intention to help people feel seen and understood.

My Creative Path
My creative journey began with a love for visual storytelling and thoughtful design, but it quickly expanded beyond aesthetics.
Working within corporate and technology-driven environments taught me how ideas move through systems, how teams collaborate across disciplines, and how design decisions impact more than visuals. They shape infrastructure, scalability, and user experience. I learned to think beyond individual deliverables and consider how every element connects within a larger ecosystem.
Over time, I transitioned into creative leadership, where the real work involved more than just design. It was connecting brand to product, marketing to user experience, and creative vision to business outcomes. I developed a deep appreciation for clarity, structure, and intentional execution, especially in environments where complexity is the norm. That experience reshaped the way I approach every project.
Founding Karmil Studios was not a departure from that experience. It was a refinement of it. Today, I bring the same systems-minded thinking, strategic perspective, and collaborative approach to founders, growing brands, and established organizations alike.
Because great design is not just about how something looks. It is about how it works, how it scales, and how it connects.
